What's New ... Project will value environmental damages from oil spills in the Baltic Sea

2011.06.19. Together with IVL and enveco, EESweden has won a contract from the Swedish EPA to help identify sources of oil spill risk in the Baltic Sea. The project will identify alternative future scenarios involving oil transport and assess economic methods that the Agency can use to value the public's loss when oil spills damage species, habitat, or ecosystem services (e.g., food supply, water purification, recreation, etc). This information is used by the Agency to help assess the costs and benefits of proposed measures to reduce oil spill risk. The project will run through late winter 2011.
